【摘要】:Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheflashpointoffuels,lubeoils,solventsandotherliquidsbyacontinuouslyclosedcuptesterutilizingaspecimensizeof2mL,cupsizeof7mL,withaheatingrateof2.5?Cperminute.Apparatusrequiringaspecimensizeof1mL,cupsizeof4mL,andaheatingrateof5.5?CperminutemustberunaccordingtoTestMethodD6450.Thisflashpointtestmethodisadynamicmethodanddependsondefiniteratesoftemperatureincrease.Itisoneofthemanyflashpointtestmethodsavailableandeveryflashpointtestmethod,includingthisone,isanempiricalmethod.Note1-Flashpointvaluesarenotaconstantphysicalchemicalpropertyofmaterialstested.Theyareafunctionoftheapparatusdesign,theconditionoftheapparatusused,andtheoperationalprocedurecarriedout.Flashpointcan,therefore,onlybedefinedintermsofastandardtestmethodandnogeneralvalidcorrelationcanbeguaranteedbetweenresultsobtainedbydifferenttestmethodsorwheredifferenttestapparatusisspecified.Thistestmethodutilizesaclosedbutunsealedcupwithairinjectedintothetestchamber.Thistestmethodissuitablefortestingsampleswithaflashpointfrom35to225?C.Note2-Flashpointdeterminationsbelow35?Candabove225?Cmaybeperformed;however,theprecisionhasnotbeendeterminedbelowandabovethesetemperatures.Iftheusersspecificationrequiresadefinedflashpointmethodotherthanthismethod,neitherthismethodnoranyothertestmethodshouldbesubstitutedfortheprescribedtestmethodwithoutobtainingcomparativedataandanagreementfromthespecifier.ThevaluesstatedinSIaretoberegardedasstandard.TemperaturesareindegreesCelsius,pressureinkilo-Pascals.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecificwarningstatements,see7.2,8.5,and10.1.2.
