【摘要】:Lowtemperaturetestingofrubbercanyieldrepeatableresultsonlyifthepreconditioningofthesamplesisconsistent.Propertiessuchasbrittlenessandmodulusaregreatlyaffectedbyvariationsintime/temperatureexposures.Thispracticeisintendedtoprovideuniformconditioningforthevariouslowtemperaturetestsconductedonrubbers.1.1Thispracticecoversthecharacteristicmechanicalbehaviorofrubbersatlowtemperatures,andoutlinestheconditioningprocedurenecessaryfortestingatthesetemperatures.1.2Oneofthefirststagesinestablishingasatisfactorytechniqueforlowtemperaturetestingisthespecificationofthetimeandtemperatureofexposureofthetestspecimen.Ithasbeendemonstratedthatanyoneormoreofthefollowingdistinctchanges,whicharedetailedinTable1,maytakeplaceonloweringthetesttemperature:1.2.1Simpletemperatureeffects,1.2.2Glasstransitions,and1.2.3Firstordertransitions(crystallization),andsolubilityandothereffectsassociatedwithplasticizers.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
